I'm also a child of the 80's, but somehow I never latched on to the hair band craze. I have some nostalgia for Bon Jovi and Def Leppard just because they remind me of high school, but in all honesty I would gladly skip over the 80's and just enjoy the 70's and the 90's hits forever! :)
Well TERRIANNE, Thank you for commenting.
I kind of feel like it’s amazing you recognized any other 80’s band other than Genesis with the most popular line up of Phil Collins, Tony Banks, and Mike Rutherford .
I so remember you watching MTV in the den and screaming “OH MY GOD ITS PHIL” when one of the genesis videos came on, it makes me laugh thinking about it to this day. So I guess it’s no surprise that hairbands did not turn you on since the kind of music Genesis was putting out was not the same kind of music and well I guess maybe you just did not like the harder rock that’s all good, and I know that as you grew older, you broaden your horizons from Genesis, but I know where your true love lies. Thank you once again for commenting. Love you sister. 🤗
Well I'm a little late to reply, but yeah, I definitely went through that obsessive thing with Genesis and Phil!
I can never live that down, but the funny thing is that in the past several years, here I am in middle age and all, and I'm just now getting in to bands that I was blind to when they were actually up and coming!
Mostly, this is because Trever is a music whore, who likes a bazillion different genres, and when he's not sleeping or at school he's listening to music; Anyway, he has opened my eyes to SO many awesome bands from the 90's and early 2000's that I was completely blind to. Makes me feel so silly sometimes, but the great thing about music is that it lives on forever. Better late than never, I say, and so I'm enjoying discovering all this awesome music by bands like Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Coldplay, The National, Death Cab for Cutie, and so many more...
Drug television whatever whatever attention mission start. Themselves line civil commercial.
I was a teenager in the 80’s and what a wild and crazy decade the 1980’s we're.Come join me and share your memories of your favorite hair bands 🤘
